Intermediate and Upper Intermediate Course

April 26th - 28th 2019, High Leigh, Hertfordshire

September 27th - 29th, The Beeches, Birmingham

of the course so you can prepare it, and the rest will be provided during the week end.

The course begins with dinner and playing on Friday evening, and ends with lunch on Sunday. Pitch A=415

The theme for the April 2019 course is Bow Distribution - where should you be in the bow, and when? We will choose music that has particular bowing techniques to consider, and will be thinking about how being in the right part of the bow can really help (or hinder) certain types of bowing!

Set Repertoire: This is music for you to look at in advance so you are not always sight-reading. We'll tell you nearer the time which part(s) to prepare.

Michael East - I Fall And Then I Rise

John Wilbye - Weep, Weep Mine Eyes

Anthony Holborne - The Night Watch

We can send you a pdf of this music before you apply if you contact us

These courses are for anyone who considers themselves to be of an intermediate or upper intermediate standard and would like to improve both their individual technique and consort playing experience. We will look at the set repertoire, covering choices of fingering and bowing which can then be applied in one-to-a-part consort sessions. Further music will be provided , some in advance
